a lottery selection will be conducted.

Please note that applications from Japanese nationals are not accepted.





1.Visitors younger than 12 years (including toddlers and infants) are not permitted to enter.  

2.Applications submitted by a proxy will not be accepted.

3.Visitors must take a tour guided by our staff, which takes about 60 min. Free access is not permitted. The visitor's path includes narrow stone bridges without handrails, large steps, and small hills. Please note that you will be walking on unstable ground.

4.Application form requires all visitor's the full names, ages, and the countries where they live. Incomplete information will result in an unsuccessful result.

5.No changes can be made after the application has been submitted.

6.If you wish to visit Katsura Imperial Villa and Shugakuin Imperial Villa or Kyoto Sento Imperial Palace on the same day, please choose a time slot that allows you to travel between the locations, as each location is far apart. Please note that visitors younger than 18 years old are not permitted to enter Shugakuin Imperial Villa and Kyoto Sento Imperial Palace. 

7.To ensure that as many people as possible can participate, visits to the same location within the same month are limited to once per month. If you wish to visit more than once within the same month, please submit a new application after your current permitted visit has been completed.

8.Visitors are NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE BUILDINGS.
